At Almena Meat Co., your animal is processed according to your specific cutting instructions. Our team uses their expertise to determine the optimal cutting order and hang time to maintain the highest meat quality.
- Beef are typically processed within 10–14 days of slaughter.
- Hogs and lambs are generally processed within 5–7 days of slaughter.
Smaller or leaner carcasses are cut first to preserve quality and prevent premature drying or spoilage.

FAQ
How do I know I’m getting my own meat back?
We track your animal through multiple checkpoints:
- At drop-off, our staff records the farmer’s name, your name, animal quantity, and tag number or identifying marks
- We transfer this information to a carcass tag attached after harvest
- Before processing, we match the farmer’s name on your cutting instructions to the carcass tag
- For farmers with multiple animals, we verify tag numbers and colors again
This system confirms you receive the correct animal.
